1. What are the probiotics and other ingredients and why are they good?
The new Digestion formula includes a Probiotic Blend made up of 7 probiotics totaling 5.3 billion CFU per 3 tsp. serving. The blend includes the following strains: Bacillus coagulans (Lactospore®), Lactobacillus acidophilus, Enterococcus faecium, Bacillus licheniformis, Bacillus subtilis, Bifidobacterium animalis, Lactobacillus delbrueckii. All hard to pronounce names that do great things: they help the pet’s system absorb the key nutrients in the formula, promote digestibility, and improve gut health and microbiome. But we didn’t stop there. We added a prebiotic named Fructooligosaccharide (commonly known as FOS) help feed probiotics and good bacteria to improve gut health – plus the following naturally powerful ingredients:
- Dried Chicory Root, a second prebiotic was added to support healthy digestion.
- Ginger, to support digestion and ease discomfort.
Chamomile, to promote relief of gastrointestinal distress.
2. Is the Digestion formula vegetarian or vegan?
This formula is free from animal proteins so it is perfect for pets with food sensitivities, and is still great for both canine and feline members of the family! Please note that some of the new probiotics may have animal origin history (although they are fermented in a vegan base), so if you want to stick to a truly vegan alternative, our Pet Kelp® Probiotic OR Pet Kelp® Skin & Coat limited ingredient organic powders are great options.
3. Are the ingredients sourced in the U.S.? Are the powders still made in the U.S.?
All of The Missing Link® products are still proudly manufactured in the U.S., made with ingredients sourced from North American suppliers. We use premium ingredients that meet our stringent Quality Assurance Specifications for efficacy, purity, and safety and our products are all made in FDA registered facilities.
4. How often to I feed this, and how do I do it?
All of The Missing Link® powder formulas should be given daily, in servings based on the pet’s weight as indicated on the packaging. The supplements should be added into your pet’s regular diet; they can be sprinkled on top, mixed in to wet or dry food, or mixed with a bit of water and added to dry food. One tip: when first starting your pet on any of our formulas, start with a lesser amount than indicated as a full serving, and build up over a week or so. The formulas are all high in fiber, and the gradual addition will help your pet’s system acclimate.
5. What if my pet won’t eat it?
